Proposed Legislation with direct impact on Hughesville


There was a commissioners' meeting on proposed legislation on December 3, 2008.  Prior to the work session, our legislative committee had reviewed all submitted legislative proposals to determine any direct impact on the Village of Hughesville.  However, the following was presented the night of the hearing:

Primary residence with accessory apartment
Village Centers

Of particular note on this list - Village Centers.  Click Here for more information.  Of particular concern is Section 8.00.00 Comprehensive Village Center; A.  The use shall include at least one CV or RV Zone and may include parcels or lots that share common boundary lines with the CV or RV Zones;

Del. Peter F. Murphy (D-Charles) will hold a community meeting on the 2009 legislative package presented by the Charles County commissioners at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 4 at the La Plata library, 2 Garrett Ave.

The meeting is an opportunity for citizens to voice their views on the legislative package and other issues before January’s General Assembly session

This community meeting provides an opportunity to question this legislative proposal.
