Cal's Die-Cast in Hughesville
Fas Trax of Maryland held it’s 2nd Anniversay Race at Cal’s Die-Cast in Hughesville, MD on Nov. 7th & 8th, 2008. The slot cars run down a 55 foot long drag-strip that has a 30 foot shut-down area. The dragway is made of wood with a formica covering. These drag cars cover the 55 foot length in around one second at speeds of 50 plus miles per hour!
It is very challenging to be able to stage the car properly, and pull the trigger to get a great reaction time. From what I observed there were some excellent reaction times from this group of racers. They also seemed to have alot of fun joking around with one another.
These are photos of a couple of the awesome slot cars that drag race at Fas Trax of Maryland. You can find drag racing there three nights a week, Wednesday, Friday & Saturday. Fas Trax is located on Leonardtown Road in Hughesville, Maryland. From Waldorf take Route 5 South to Hughesville. You will find Cal’s Die-Cast on the right side of the road in the Flea Market Barn
