October 8, 2008, meeting with John Porcari, Maryland's Transportation Secretary, and the county commissioners:

Two of the items to be discussed:

1.  In coordination with Calvert County, the commissioners seek the widening of Rt. 231 to ease increasing levels of congestion.

2.  Complete planning and design for a streetscape on MD 5 Business in Hughesville, inside the limits of the Hughesville Bypass.  The county has completed a Revitalization Plan for the Village of Hughesville and the streetscape is a key element of the revitalization strategy.  This streetscape will enhance the revitalization of the village and provide roadway and pedestrian enhancements.
