A Dog & Pony Show by the Commissioners...
Industrial tour canceled (scroll down)
The commissioners canceled a tour of modern industrial sites in the county this week that was planned as preparation for a work session next week concerning a proposed zoning change in Hughesville.
The commissioners must decide whether to grant a request by Chaney Enterprises to rezone 150 acres of rural agricultural land on Route 231 to heavy industrial. The rezoning is opposed by both a local watchdog group and the state planning office.
Cooper said that the tour was canceled because several commissioners could not attend.
The commissioners are scheduled to hold a work session on the zoning request next week, but Cooper said it could take several work sessions on the request until the board reaches a decision.

The article doesn't include the location or names of the sites to be toured, but, I think a good guess would be the sites Frank Chaney invited everyone at the public hearing on June 25th to see that he owns in other locations. Viewing those sites doesn't amount to a hill of beans - Chaney intends to break up the property, if it is rezoned, to sell. So, any intentions for those lots are unknown and Chaney will have no control over them. Whatever Chaney has done with his other industrial lots has no bearing on the site in Hughesville.
I believe the commissioners are stalling, trying to come up with some valid reason to approve the rezoning when, obviously, it has been proven how wrong it is to do. If true - SHAME ON YOU, COMMISSIONERS. PLEASE...prove me wrong.
