Deva...perhaps you should have checked out the web site for MACO before commenting, because if you had you would see that anyone can attend the reception -- all they have to do is purchase the ticket.

I believe the invitation is given out to those chosen by the County Administrator and they will attend the reception free of charge.

I was told by a public official, that while it is not commonly known, events and retreats that seem to be only for government officials, are also open to the public.

Very interesting...Deva says this is not a public event when one of the sponsors is Chaney Enterprises who is currently trying to obtain the Commissioners approval for a gravel washing operation in Hughesville.

Yet the "invite" is from the County Administrator. Hmmmm...have the Commissioners also been "invited"?

-- If so, this would appear to be a "conflict of interest" as we all know that there's lots of winks and nods at events such as this!!

Deva, can you tell us if the Commissioners have been "invited" and if so, why not members of Preserve Hughesville?
