LTE Regarding MDP's Review of Chaney Rezoning
I would like to thank Ms. Stephanie Martin, Director of Land Use Planning and Analysis, for providing a review and comments on the Chaney Rezoning proposal of 150 acres in Hughesville, upon the Hughesville citizens' request. I believe I speak for the majority in Hughesville when I say, we support and stand behind the state's smart growth initiative. I am pleased to hear Governor O'Malley, as was reported recently, is urging public officials to follow the state initiative, as well.

Pauleen - you also speak for hundreds of others on the "western" side of the county. It's high time the Commissioners abide by the recommendations of the Comprehensive Plan, the Hughesville Revitalization Plan and Smart Growth Initiative!
I and hundreds of others "over here" are sick and tired of the developers and their ilk essentially "calling the shots" but of course, they've got the "deep pockets" - but then again WE'VE GOT THE VOTES!!
