Until I read the "Independent on Friday 1/11/2008, I had no idea of the rezoning
initiative,,I was horrified to learn of this; I am a resident of Carriage Crossing Community (Rt 381)just a mile or two down the road,,I desire to attend the Planning Commision Meeting and join the opposition to this plan.

UPDATE: Approximately 20-25 people attended the meeting last night. The agenda of the meeting was basically informational, explaining: 1. Heavy Industrial Zoning; 2. The Hughesville Revitalization Plan; 3. How any rezoning affects the plan; 4. Preserve Hughesville's stand on the rezoning; 5. How the rezoning process works; 6. Based on attendees' opinion of the information presented, an invitation was extended to unite to oppose the rezoning.
